Tom Glover,
earned a BFA degree in studio art from the
University of New Hampshire several years ago, and has since
established himself as a highly successful artist throughout New
England and beyond. Glover works now as an on-call consultant
for the frame shop, assisting in matters of preservation and
restoration. He also takes on special projects when we need his
services.
Jason E.
Turgeon attended the Maine College of Art in Portland from
1995 through 2000. There he was taught a comprehensive
foundation that influences his artistic work to this day. While
learning to comprehend a language smeared from a social
thumbprint, Mr. Turgeon explores many disciplines in the visual
arts.

July
2007 at the Franklin Gallery
The
Franklin Gallery at Ben Franklin Crafts, 200 Tri-City Plaza in
Somersworth, will host “Work and Labor in Transitional Societies: Images
of Ghana, Niger and Dazu, China” – works by Barrington, New Hampshire
photographer Charter Weeks – July 1st through July 30th during regular
business hours.
The Gallery will host an informal reception for the artist on
Sunday, July 1st from 2:00
p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited to attend.
Charter Weeks has been photographing for over 40 years. His most recent
project has involved documenting work and labor in transitional
societies, though it is a subject matter he began recording in the early
70’s while living in a small Japanese agricultural community where work
and life were essentially synonymous. “That is still true today in much
of the world beyond Europe and North America,” says Weeks.
Weeks’ works have appeared in a variety of national and international
journals including the New York Times Travel section and Graphis
International. His works have also been exhibited in galleries and
museums in New York, Colorado, Maine and New Hampshire.
You can see more of Charter Weeks’ photography at www.charterweeks.com.
All Franklin Gallery works are available for purchase. For information
