Summertime Pollen Tips

This is the time of year when pollen particles are in the air.  Be sure to rinse your brushes and wipe off your surface before painting.

Have an Art eraser that needs cleaning?  On laundry day, just plop it in a pocket of a pair of jeans and wash as usual.

Purchasing wood?  Make sure you get it primed or sealed on both sides before storing.  This is especially important during humid summertime weather. The wood will warp and crack without a sealer.  Use the same sealer for both sides.

Removing Paint
From dried brushes, clothes, etc.
(first check label on clothing)

Use any of the following:

  • Regular Brush Cleaners

  • Rubbing Alcohol

  • Vodka

  • Hair Spray

  • Zout (spot remover)

To remove paint from the surface you are working on, "carefully" apply a water/alcohol mix with a Q-Tip.  Or you may use Handy/Baby Wipes with alcohol or a dampened typewriter eraser.
